13. "How Much Does My Baby Weigh?"

When a baby is delivered the protocol is that they are given straight to the mother for some magical skin-to-skin time. During this short time period of the midwife handing you your baby, do not ask them how much the baby weighs. They are not magicians. Unfortunately they're not psychic, their hands are not scales and this is not a village fete where you guess the weight of the baby pig. They literally have no idea and until you're ready for the baby to be cut away from you and placed on some scales, just be happy that you're holding your newborn child, no matter how chubby they feel.
