4. Bridge Suicide

This haunting image was taken by an amateur photographer hoping to snap some photos of the Wahuan Yangtze bridge in the Hubei province in central China. Through the fog in the distance, several of the photos captured a couple as they jumped to their death. Like many countries, suicide is technically illegal in China, though there's no clear way to enforce it.

3. Rihanna Selfie

To the untrained eye, it might look like nothing untoward is going on in this selfie, uploaded by singer Rihanna while in Thailand to her public Twitter account. However, the creature on her shoulder is actually a slow loris; cute but illegal to own as a pet due to its status as a protected species. Thai authorities arrested two individuals that were using the loris for photo opportunities, due to the selfie being widely shared online.
