17. What's With All The Chains?

There are so. many. chains. Bournemouth is an old fashioned, beach resort town. So why is everything a chain? 3 Subways, 2 Cafe Nero's, 2 Costas, 2 Wetherspoons, Primark, M&S, Topman...you get the idea. Bournemouth does not exactly have the largest high street in the world, and it is full to the brim with chains. There is that odd occasion where you'll be walking down the street and you'll exclaim 'A LOCAL SHOP??' It does happen. But, for the most part, chains will chop and change with each other. Remember when Primark used to be River Island, then they moved two doors up, next door to a Poundland that used to be Republic? And the Tesco Express was a Borders? And...wait, brain hurts.
