When Facebook first became a public company in May 2012, shares were offered at a price of $38 (£26) - and the company was valued at $104billion (£71billion). This initial floatation value made it the highest-ever newly-listed public company. Facebook shares are now worth more than $80 (£55) a piece - and the company surpassed the $200billion ($137billion) valuation in February 2015, placing it 18th on Forbes' most-powerful brands list.
