5. You're Always Mistaken By New People For An Intern When You're At Work

"So how long are you interning for? Are you enjoying your work experience?" It never gets any less irritating, and your only response is to unintentionally embarrass the curious person by saying "Oh, no, I've worked here for five years. And I'm the deputy editor. I just look young, you know?" You have to work harder than everyone else to prove you're just as good at the job as they are, even though you look like you should still be doing a paper round. Sigh.
