Or rather, it looks that way because you have less space for food to settle than the average person does. You need to eat a fraction of the amount normal people do, because if you eat any more, it will show. For example, if a person of average height had to gain 5kgs, it would barely be noticeable, but if a short person gained the same amount, it would be hard to miss.
