A quiet atmosphere is never a good thing in a house with a puppy because it could mean a number of things. Sure, they could be napping, which is great, but the other possibilities are not as ideal. Silence usually means they've either escaped from wherever they were, eating something they shouldn't be or doing their 'business' on your fresh linen. Each option is probably equally as bad so you'll learn to take silence as a reason to panic.
