16. The Gift Of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs
Snow White's Grotto just next to Sleeping Beauty Castle was intended to be a relaxing area for guests to enjoy, but it wouldn't have existed with without a anonymous gift giver.
Walt Disney was sent marble figurines of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs without knowing their source. He wanted to include them in the park somewhere but unfortunately Snow White was the same height as the dwarfs.
Disney Imagineer John Hench came up the idea of using forced perspective to make Snow White look taller than her companions, and so the Grotto was created.
Any pennies that are thrown into the waterfall at the Grotto are donated to childrens charities.
