There's not much use currently for the term "hugging face", so we can only assume that The Unicode Consortium have acquired some of the rights to Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic Alien. Hugging Face emoji presumably depicts the classic cinema moment where Executive Officer Kane has an unidentified creature attach itself to his face, which implants an embryo that eventually bursts, explosively, out of his chest. Expect to receive this one from all your friends when bae won't let you go out with them.
