19. Hotel de Glace - Quebec, Canada
There's something to be said for a hotel that also doubles as a work of art. Although the Hotel de Glace is only open during the harshest winter months, it's for good reason: this is a hotel made entirely of ice. Every year, artists are commissioned to design and construct the new rooms, using only snow and ice. Located near Quebec City, this is North America's only ice hotel, and no expense is spared to make this a unique and breathtaking experience for visitors. You know that scene from Frozen, where Elsa is creating a gorgeous ice castle out of thin air, and you marvel at the detail and sort of want to live there even though you know it's probably super impractical? It's like that, except instead of being just a product of an animator's fever dream, it's actually real.
