2. His Final Death-toll Is Around 20 Million People

Whilst a lot of what he was doing during the Second World War was overlooked for being an ally of the West, when all was said and done his regime had left an unbelievable scar across the continent. Over the course of his reign, Joseph Stalin was responsible for the deaths of some 20 million people, be they citizens of his own country, or soldiers serving in the war. He was also behind the captivity, mistreatment, exile, starvation and virtual slavery of countless more. Sadly he was never held accountable for any of this and died in his bed in 1953.
