12. McDonalds Managers Graduate From Hamburger University
Located in Oak Brook, Illinois, Hamburger University was established in 1961 as a means of instructing managers, mid-managers and owner/operators in the various aspects of running a McDonalds. With more than 7500 students passing through its doors each year, classes are taught in 28 languages by 19 full-time professors with restaurant operations expertise. The institution was spoofed in the film Hamburger: The Motion Picture (1986), where a slob enrols at Busterburger University with the intention of becoming a franchisee and runs afoul of Drootin, the drill sergeant, and a character called The Frying Nun.
