20 Mind-Blowing Facts About The London Underground

10. There's Dead Bodies Surrounding The Piccadilly Line

While we're on the topic of Underground horror stories, have you ever noticed that the Piccadilly line makes an odd detour heading east out of South Kensington? The fairly straight line shifts dramatically as it heads through the tunnel for one very good reason. The intended route for the line- which would take it through Hyde Park- was found to be unusable as there were so many bodies buried in the area that the ground was filled with skeletons, making construction impossible. So whenever you head through the tunnel, there are bones pressed against the walls on the other side. Something to keep in mind tomorrow morning.
