15. The City Of Atlanta Georgia Was Originally Named Terminus

In the early nineteenth century, America's railroad companies were seeking a destination where all the tracks could meet, what their industry refers to as a terminus, or terminal. The place they decided upon would eventually become Atlanta, Georgia. Hence the city of Terminus was founded. Its name was soon changed to Atlanta a few years later after everyone realised a city at the end of the tracks named Terminus sounded ominous and creepy. Obviously the creators of The Walking Dead agreed.
