The picture nobody wanted you to see. One of the most controversial elements of 9/11 were "The Jumpers"; although many still refuse to accept they jumped, rather that they fell or were overwhelmed by flames and explosions. Some see a final act of desperation, others see an act of brave defiance. No one will ever know, but the powerfully chilling images still shock us 13 years on from the 9/11 attacks. As stated by theologian Mark D. Thompson: "Perhaps the most powerful image of despair at the beginning of the twenty-first century is not found in art, or literature, or even popular music. It is found in a single photograph." Never forget.
