4. The Surprisingly Lax University
When it comes to picking a university, you could do a lot worse than Cardiff. There's a great set of schools for various subjects, a cracking night life, and a generally really nice atmosphere. However, it's also an ideal choice if you're someone who doesn't really plan on showing up all that often. The Humanities department in particular are very lax. They'll keep a close eye on you in the first year, sure, but you're good to go after that. Not keen on seminars? Don't go. Bored of lectures? Borrow your mate's notes. You'll probably graduate with marks lower than you would have otherwise got, but if you're heading to uni looking to have a lot of fun and not do much work, then for God's sake pick Cardiff. They should probably think about saying that in the prospectus, huh? Well, maybe not.
