20 Problems Only People From Sheffield Will Understand
5. Meadowhall On A Saturday
The Last Days Of Pompeii, by all historical records, were a hysterical, terrible event. People running, screaming for their lives from the erupting volcano, seemingly unaware or uncaring that no matter how fast they were, it was impossible to escape the flow of boiling hot lava. Something approaching that level of terror and mass hysteria is what Meadowhall is like on a Saturday. Again, people who don't live in Sheffield will attempt to sympathise. Oh yes, it's awful at our of a weekend, too! No. It's not the same. The huge capitalistic monolith is intimidating enough as it is. Then you populate it with a bunch of stressed-out parents dragging crying children, shiftless teens and the elderly moving at a snails pace, stopping in the worst places to puzzle out the impossible geography of the place. The horror.
