20 Problems You'll Only Understand If You Were A Martial Arts Kid
14. Sore Palms From Breakfalling
Falling correctly is the most important thing in most martial arts - it's usually the first thing you'd have been taught as a child. Breakfalls prepared you for just about every throw you'd take in the next few years, but the instructors didn't warn you about one thing. Those safety mats felt like concrete. There was a weekly competition to see who could slap the mat the hardest when breakfalling, but your poor hands wouldn't thank you at the end of a rough day.
13. Somebody Turning Up With A Verruca
Somebody rocking up to the venue with a single grey sock on could only mean one thing - they were infected. At least they were taking steps to prevent the virus from spreading (or at least their parents had made them); you all still remember the time that one yellow belt walked his dirty verruca germs all over the mat. It led to an evacuation that put Dunkirk to shame.
