But seriously, what if they're the most socially awkward person you've ever had the displeasure of putting up with for a few hours just because you're too polite to fake an 'emergency.' Although, would they really know that your house was on fire? It probably depends on the situation of your pants at the time. You try to convince yourself that the awkward silences aren't awkward but comfortable because it's nice to be able to just sit in silence with someone and enjoy their company. Except that this is just excruciating and time has stood still.
