8. Jumping Into Hoops To Practise Your Footwork

As a beginner, the easiest way to practise your footwork was to place a hoop on the ground, jump in it with your landing foot and then pivot. As a child, this was a delight, but as a teenager, it was torture. You felt stupid and probably stood on the hoop and went over on your ankle at one point, especially when they introduced catching a ball with one foot in the hoop. When you eventually got around to playing a game, you were lost without that hoop and repeatedly blown up for footwork.
