The best way for teachers to scout for potential players on the school team was to observe your progress during lessons. But inevitably the harder you tried, the worse that you played and that was the way that it has always been. Of course, your school would never turn away a girl who wanted to be a part of the team and you were someone who really did try hard, but you never wanted to spend the majority of your time on the bench. Being on the team was like having an extended family and you did everything together. You shared oranges at half time, gossiped on the bus on the way to games and shared a Mcdonalds together as a celebration or a commiseration treat. If you have any other memories of playing netball in school, share them in the thread below.
