Book: The Deathly Hallows How he died: Strangled with his own hand Death: Peter Pettigrew had proven himself to be a lousy friend but a loyal servant to Voldemort, even if it was a result of his fear for him and his desire for power. When Pettigrew hesitated to kill Harry, his silver hand took this as a moment of weakness and disloyalty to Voldemort, and strangled him instead. It was also a pretty horrific way for Pettigrew to go, even if you did feel like he deserved it for his betrayals.
