As annoying as math was for every person who had to endure it in school, the truth is that mathematics, and more importantly numerical measurement, was essential to many scientific breakthroughs and historical transformations.
By learning how to calculate something’s value accurately, humans became able to turn seemingly difficult concepts into exact sciences. Measuring distance, speed, time, value, weight, momentum, and countless other things of that sort couldn’t be possible without the ability to calculate an object’s value with numbers.
