25 Secrets Of Walt Disney World That You Didn't Know

3. It's Always Summer At The Forbidden Mountain

Disney Animal Kingdom Expedition Everest

We can actually tell what time of year that Expedition Everest is set, and that is summer.

The reason we can see this is because of the waterfall that is cascading down the side of the Forbidden Mountain. The waterfall represents the melting ice on the mountain as temperatures warm up, which is between May and September.

This time frame works perfect for the ride too as these months are the best time of year for adventurers to attempt to climb the real Everest.

Joe Rhode, the main imagineer behind Animal Kingdom, loves making sure that the park is a true to life as possible. In reality if you decided to venture up Everest you would choose to do so in the summer months.
