While once you were comparing your hourly wages while working in bars and ice cream shops and clothes stores, now all your friends are just a little bit cagey about exposing how much money they earn. Speculation amongst the gang is rife as to who's earning the most. You know it's not you, that's for sure. It used to be funny to have less money than your friends; they'd always pick you up with a drink if you went out. Now people are buying bottles of wine to take to people's houses as well as bottles of wine for themselves. It all just got a bit civilised, and you're not sure if you like or not.
