28. The U.S. Embassy Re-opens In Havana
Following 50 years of diplomatic exile between the two nations, Cuban President Raul Castro and American Barack Obama opened international dialogue between the two respective countries. The Cuban Revolution during the 1950s subsequently lead to US President Eisenhower closing off all international relations with its neighbour, and the US embassy in Havana being closed as of January 1961. The willingness to reform relations, along with the reengagement on dialogue, has seen renewed collaboration. Progress was made to such an extent that it lead to US State Secretary John Kerry officially reopening the embassy on 20th July, and the proposed re-indoctrination of trade agreements.
