And as a follow-up to
yesterday's Part I, here's five attractions Universal Orlando should remove...
5. The E.T. Adventure
As of June 2013, the E.T. Adventure is the only original Universal Studios attraction that still operates to this day - and it's about time they shut it down. The attraction is cute enough - featuring a themed queue and a pre-show with recorded footage of the film's director Steven Spielberg engaging the audience, followed by a ride in which guests board bicycles and fly in to the air with E.T. to help him get home - but it is long past its best. The ride suffers from the fact that it both isn't exciting enough to thrill adults and it is no longer current enough to interest children, so why is it still going? The coolest part of this attractions comes when E.T. says your name at the end (you give it to an attendant at the start and, if you've never been on the ride before, you wonder why), thanking you for your help in getting him home, but it offers nothing else that countless other rides don't offer you.
