5 Biggest Party Cities Ever

Presented By Desperados

The Desperados #CityHack campaign has seen 3 opposing teams from 3 of the UK€™s trendiest and most cosmopolitan cities go head to head. The 4th challenge is what all the teams have been building towards. A culmination of creative guile, imagination, expression, and the desire to win! Challenge 1 required them to flaunt their video production and editing skills by creating music video, and challenge 2 to show off their promotional styles and ability to create eye-catching attractions. Later, challenge 3 gave them the chance to tailor and hold a party, which portrayed the maverick spirit and mood of their respective cities. After weeks of hard work and challenges the #CityHack teams have finally reached the finish line. €œHack The Bill€ this time sees the teams not only pit themselves against each other, but also go up against world renowned DJ Sub Focus. Sub Focus, real name Nick Douwnma, is a prominent player in the UK drum and base scene having worked with acts such as Example and Chase & Status. Since the late 00's he has released a host of UK top 40 singles, and secured the No.1 spot in the UK Dance Chart multiple times. The challenge was put together as a way to see how each team reacts when directly competing against a rival, and trying to secure the largest crowd away from everyone else. Held at London's Building 6, the groups each had 2 attempts in Room 2 to steal, attract, and retain the largest amount of people away from the main room, where Sub Focus was throwing some kick-ass beats and delivering an accomplished and breakneck performance. To win, the teams had to push their creativity to the max, and really deliver in every aspect of musical and visual fortitude. Each went up in turn and had 2 opportunities to stake their claim: London - Mr A kicked off the event with a solid set of classic and established garage tunes. All delivered on bass-laden vinyl to add an element of rawness. Returning later on, Mr A brought on support in the form of English reggae deejay General Levy - what was in fact his second appearance of the night - and Japanese singer Riya. Bristol - Patrick Nazemi looked to deliver hits for the masses, with an eclectic and thumping multi-genre mix. When re-claiming the stage for their second slot, they also got in on the act of utilising specialist guests to add something special. Manchester - Team member Dean's own North Base group lit up the alongside a host of guest PAs. This included DRS, a first rap performance by Manc DJ Chimpo, and female vocalist Jenna G. It was topped by General Levy's first performance that evening. North Base took final ownership of the stage, and intermixed with a back to back performance with DJ Randall, they kept the music ringing and the beats flowing until 5am. Check out the video above to see exactly how the night went down, and visit the #CityHack website for full details. The whole campaign has been a fantastic show of invention, creativity, and flamboyance. And each team really came up trumps in showing how each of their cities like to party.
