1. Britney Spears
She sang about being Not Such an Innocent Girl and Britney certainly spent much of 2007 going out of her way to prove this. Her infamous meltdown coined the term 'do a Britney' and this could be applied to any of her successors. Another star of the infamous Mickey Mouse Club, she spent much of her early career dominating the charts and having a long-standing rivalry with former co-star Christina Aguilera. After a successful career she had a very public meltdown which began not long after her three-year marriage to Kevin Federline ended in divorce. She then went on to lose custody of her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, appearing frequently in the press looking unkempt, with a sugary Starbucks in hand. February 2007 kick started a period of outlandish behaviour, during this time she shaved her head, got two new tattoos and heavily hit the L.A. club scene. The infamous photo of Britney attacking a paparazzo's car with an umbrella highlighted the lowest point in her career and she later checked into rehab.
However, it didn't end there and her disastrous performance at the 2007 MTV VMA's suggested that she wasn't ready for a comeback. Her chaotic performance of Gimme More was slated by fans and critics alike. 2008 marked an up for Britney and slowly but surely she managed to get her life and career back on track. Recent chart success and musical collaborations with Will.i.am suggest she is back to her best, let's hope she manages to stay on the straight and narrow and it's not a case of oops she did it again!
