The Theory: There are a vast number of conspiracy theorists who claim that Robert F. Kennedys assassin Sirhan Sirhan was in fact under direct government control via hypnosis. Who Killed Robert Kennedy? ( 1993), 75) Many of these conspiracy writers believe that infamous hypnotist Dr. William Joseph Bryan was the individual to carry out the hypnosis. Bryan has reportedly claimed to have worked for the CIA and even gone as far to brag to prostitutes that he had indeed hypnotized Sirhan to kill RFK.
Why Its Bonkers: I like to think of myself as a realist, I dont believe in ghosts, I dont believe in the Easter bunny and I dont believe in hypnotism. Maybe there is some sort of truth behind your run of the mill circus hypnosis but I for one dont believe that there are government programmed Manchurian Candidates running round shooting people. Sirhan can claim to have no recollection until hes blue in the face, but in my opinion there is no way that a human being can have their free will bypassed and be made to kill in cold blood. Furthermore, it seems to me that bragging to prostitutes hardly makes something cast iron truth. Maybe Im just naïve; maybe the world is run by some sort of all powerful combination between Derren Brown and The Wizard of Oz. That sounds an awful lot like someonebest stop here, we dont want to piss of the religious folk.
