6 Times Things Got Heated On The Joe Rogan Experience

3. Brian Redban

Before Young Jamie was the JRE's resident technician and the undisputed crown prince of pulling things up there was Brian Redban. Redban was an everpresent throughout the early years of the podcast, often interjecting at the most inappropriate of times with his own brand of controversial humour.

While occasionally hilarious, this proved a surefire way to completely derail a conversation as evidenced by an argument with Bill Burr in the early years of the podcast where the stubborn Redban abjectly refuses to consider Burr's reasoning leading to a near half-hour of mind-numbingly repetitive quarrelling.

Redban also performed regularly as a standup comedian during this time and would often use the podcast as a platform to discuss his progress in the profession. The problem was, this didn't always come at an appropriate time, and when he mentioned a glowing review from a comedy promoter towards the end of an episode with Justin Foster in 2013 an argument broke out between Redban and Rogan.

After several years of spending an inordinate amount of time together making the podcast on a regular basis, the friction between the pair is palpable and they go back and forth like an old married couple. It seems Rogan initially mistook Redban's pride in his comedy as being braggadocious, and the discussion does not improve from that point on.

Credit to Justin Foster for sitting quietly while the argument continued back and forth, occasionally trying to steer the ship back to the original discourse, like a child caught in the crossfire between warring parents.

This episode would mark the end of Redban's tenure as JRE producer after more than 400 episodes, but in recent years he has begun once again to appear semi-regularly showing that time heals all wounds among Rogan's comedy clique.
