7 Ways Humans Might Evolve In The Future

Of course, evolutionarily speaking, humans are a bit of a special case. We're pretty well aware of the effects of evolution on non-humans, but we're not quite sure how it works with a species that has become technologically advanced enough to overcome a lot of evolutionary challenges without evolving.

Essentially, we might move away from the world of natural selection, into a phase of unnatural selection as we find newer, better ways to artificially enhance ourselves. This all begins with advancements in genetic engineering, cybernetic implants, nanotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence. Once we begin to integrate technology with our bodies, we suddenly become the masters of the future of the species. There are those who think that we may one day end up uploading our consciousnesses, becoming conscious streams of information, capable of travelling at light speed, perhaps occasionally downloading ourselves into robotic bodies and replicating like nobody's business.

The weird thing is that this sort of takes us full circle, returning us to a sort of super-advanced version of a colony of bacteria. With spaceships.
