8 Deadly Fighting Styles You've Probably Never Heard Of
8. Kapu Kuialua
Kapu Kuialua is an ancient Hawaiian martial art also known as Lua. This form of hand-to-hand combat mostly focusses on the business of breaking bones and locking out joints, but also has an impressive range of weapons that you would not want to find yourself at the sharp end of. These include delights such as the Leiomano (a club covered in shark's teeth), a canoe paddle and a strangling cord, as well as a healthy collection of knives, daggers and clubs. Obviously, getting caught in a choke hold when you're trying to brain somebody with your shark tooth club is less than ideal, so fighters would cover themselves in a thin layer of coconut oil so as to ensure they slipped from their opponent's grasp like a bar of soap.
