8 Famous People From History Who Were Surprisingly Socially Awkward

5. Immanuel Kant

Immanuel Kant was a German philosopher known for his major work the Critique of Pure Reason. Despite being one of the founders of modern philosophy, he joins our list of the socially awkward. To say that Kant was not a fan of change is a bit of an understatement. In his 79 years, he never traveled further than 10 miles from his home town of Kรถnigsberg and apparently his daily routine was so strict that his neighbours would set their watches according to the time that he walked past their house. Another story says that one day he was approached by a beautiful woman with a marriage offer. He took so long pondering over his decision that by the time he gave his reply, she was already married to someone else and had given birth to several children.
