5. People Don’t Actually Give A Sh*t About Climate Change

According to a survey by the AP-NORC and the Energy Policy Institute, quizzing Americans on their views on climate change and energy, 65% of Americans think that climate change is a problem that the U.S. government should address. This is pretty good, right? It shows that a majority of Americans really want change for the future of our planet.

Well no, because the same survey also revealed that 42% of Americans aren’t willing to pay even just $1 per month to combat climate change, and 10% don't believe it's happening at all.

A similar poll in 2015 found that fewer than 25% are "extremely or very worried" about it. About 33% are "moderately worried" and the highest percentage of those polled - 38% - were "not too worried or not at all worried".

Much of the concern appears to be economic with 54% of Americans in favour of regulating fossil fuels, but that number drops to 45% if this would result in job loss.
