8 London Tourist Attractions That Make Absolutely No Sense

4. The Fan Museum

The Wikipedia entry for this curious place read as follows: "The Fan Museum was the first museum dedicated to the fan." So there are others, then? How many fan museums do we need on one Earth? Despite the fact that this is an award-winning attraction, it boggles the mind that something so fan-heavy is winning tourists over left, right and centre. The Fan Museum has tons of - ahem - "fans" and rave reviews. The Fan Museum, people! FANS. Apparently there are enough people in the world whose ideal day out consists of walking around a building - albeit a very nice building - looking at a vast collection of over 40,000 fans. Sure, it sounds like the kind of place your grandma might enjoy a few hours stumbling through on a Sunday (and there's a lovely tea room for her, too), but it's still odd that this is an actual place that you can pay real money to go and see. People want to look at fans? Still, a better day out than Madame Tussauds, we reckon.
