8. Don't Be A Mug

Everyone's got a favourite mug. You don't want to be the new one that was seen using the boss's mug. Best solution - bring your own. That way no one can throw you a dodgy glance for using their mug for your morning coffee. And if you do have to use an 'office' mug, make sure you wash it up. You also don't want the reputation of being the one that leaves their mouldy coffee lying around. Another thing, don't be a mug hoarder! If no one can find a clean mug for themselves and realise there are 7 on your desk, no one will ever offer to make you a coffee in the future. Then comes the problem of - when is it too early to bring my own mug in. You don't want to look too keen but then again, you don't want to use the wrong mug. It's a tough decision to make guys. Maybe just take one on your first day - then they'll think you know exactly what you're doing. Even if you don't.
