8 Mind-Blowing Bits Of Sci-Fi Tech That You Will Live To See

2. Personal Fabricators In Every Home

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1849283018/makerarm-the-first-robotic-arm-that-makes-anything/description We're all pretty familiar with 3D printing technology by now, but in the next decade or so, you'll probably go from watching videos of them on the internet, to having one make your breakfast for you. Now that we're coming to the tail end of the digital revolution, we're probably about ready for another one. The next step in technology is apparently going to be in personal fabrication, that is, taking manufacturing out of the factories and into the home. This could be downloading the code to build pre-determined objects, or even inventing your own. This is essentially taking computing right outside the box, literally. At the moment, technology for most people is a one way street, usually limited to viewing information on a screen. In the coming years, it will no longer be a case of just consuming information via your computer, but inputting into it and getting things out. At the moment, this looks like 3D printers, which take raw materials, melt them down and form object out of them. But combine this technology with the emerging claytronic technology in the previous entry and the possibilities are pretty much endless.
