8 Times Things Got Seriously Awkward On The Joe Rogan Experience

Sometimes podcasts don't go exactly to plan...

Joe Rogan
JRE

Over the course of more than 1000 episodes, Joe Rogan has developed a knack for getting the best out of his guests, and providing JRE fans with interesting content from people spanning the entire spectrum of public life.

Though it started as merely Joe and his friends from the world of comedy shooting the sh*t in Rogan's living room, the podcast has evolved into an alternative media behemoth, capable of influencing some of the world's most prominent businesses, as seen with Tesla's stock drop after Elon Musk's debut on the show, and having a legitimate impact on national politics, with Democratic politicians queuing up to appear ahead of the presidential primaries earlier this year.

All this success is a testament to Joe's hard work. The show has been insanely consistent in terms of both quality and quantity since the first episode in 2010 and shows absolutely no sign of slowing down.

However, like all of us, Joe is human, with over a decade's worth of episodes there have been a few guests that have rubbed the UFC commentator the wrong way. Sometimes this comes from a basic difference in opinion, other times alcoholic beverages muddy the waters, but regardless, these are some of the most awkward and cringeworthy moments in the history of the internet's favourite podcast.

8. Eddie Bravo And Young Jamie Talk Nuclear Bombs

Joe and Eddie Bravo have been friends for over two decades now, with the pair meeting while training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with grappling legend Jean Jacques Macahdo in the late 90s. Alongside their passion for martial arts, the pair share a variety of interests, including a common fascination with conspiracy theories.

Their friendship has continued to this day, but while Joe has generally tended to veer away from alternative possibilities the more he has interacted with scientists over the years, Eddie has conversely doubled down on his beliefs, confidently expressing his opinion on the flat earth at every opportunity.

While sometimes Eddie's often wacky ideas prove perfect fodder for hilarious discussion, his certainty in his views regularly leave little room for disagreement.

So, when the BJJ master appeared on a Fight Companion in 2018, and the discussion of nuclear bombs came up Eddie explained that he wasn't 100% sold on their existence.

A clearly frustrated Young Jamie interjected to disagree with Bravo, and attempted to solidify his argument by pointing out the fact he got an A in his college physics class, in a hilariously awkward moment which has unsurprisingly since become a meme among the JRE fanbase.
