2. Fufill The Needs That His Queen Can't But Don't Become Queen Yourself
During his marriage to Anne of Cleves, King Henry VIII met a young girl named Anne Bassett who attracted his attention with her good looks and gentle nature. Rumours of an affair between Henry and Anne began after Henry gave her a 'fine horse and saddle.' These rumours continued to the point that it was even suggested that Anne might become Henry's new queen after his divorce from Anne of Cleves. This rumour surfaced once again following the death of Henry's fifth wife, Katherine Howard. Despite the rumours, Anne Bassett never became Henry's wife and went on to outlive him by many years. While being a mistress of Henry VIII came with such perks as money, arranged marriages and property, the three women who did make the move from mistress to wife, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour and Katherine Howard, all ended up dead. This suggests that the number one way to survive a relationship with King VIII would be to avoid a wedding ring at all costs.
