9 Best Smartwatches You Must Buy In 2016

2. Samsung Gear S2

Samsung is the king of all Android Wear, but the tech giant certainly went off the mark a bit when the Gear S2, ditched Google€™s Android Wear OS altogether, using Samsung€™s very own Tizen interface instead. For some this is a great change but endangered itself of being too specific to the Samsung brand and forcing app developers to make its own adaptions like they had to with the Apple Watch. Despite a smart design and better-than-average battery life make this one of the better watches if you€™re after a watch with the gadget factor. The Samsung Tizen watch platform has only a handful of worthwhile apps in its entire library - so its £300 price is about as easy to swallow as a month out-of-date cheese that's been the back of the fridge. But what is really great about the SE is that thee company went back to the drawing board to craft a wearable truly worth people's attention. When looking at the Gear S2, it's obvious that Samsung has learnt from its past successes and failures, previous editions of its Gear range weren't as inviting - this is much more wearable than their previous attempts, it looks good and it's comfortable. The Samsung Gear S2 features a fully circular sAMOLED touchscreen measuring 1.2-inches in diameter. That makes it smaller than the displays on the Huawei Watch and Moto 360. Despite having a smaller screen than its rivals, it doesn't impact usability, at no point during my testing did I feel limited by the size.
