7. Dudo
Where it was played: According to legend, this 16th century game was played throughout the Incan empire. It is thought that King Atahualpa taught it to the conquistador Francisco Pizarro, who took it back to Spain.
How it was played: You may be familiar with the card game known as 'Cheat', among other names, in which the object of the game is to be the most convincing liar. Dudo is similar, but played with dice instead of cards. Every player has five dice, which they shake in a cup. They then take turns to say which numbers they have facing up until someone challenges a claim. Let's say player A claims to have five 6's showing, and player B calls player A a liar. If player A is telling the truth, player B drinks. If not, player A has to drink. Dudo might be a good one to suggest next time you're pre-drinking and no one can think of a game that you haven't all played a million times before.
