9 Most Horrendous Chemical Weapons

4. VX

If you thought Sarin was bad, VX is off the charts.

The two agents are similar, but VX is many times more toxic, persistent and deadly. Sarin is generally very volatile and therefore difficult to weaponize, but VX will last on surfaces for many days and even months in the right conditions. Its vapour is heavier than air, so it can sit lurking in low-lying regions, rather than simply dissipating.

It again works by causing its victims to completely lose control, leading to drooling, convulsions, loss of bowel and bladder control, vomiting, and respiratory failure.

VX's toxicity is what makes it so frighteningly deadly, with the tiniest vapour droplet capable of killing and adult human.
