6. Argument: The Stars Don’t Move

A pretty common viewpoint that goes hand-in-hand with the FE's worldview is geocentrism. That is, that the Earth is at the centre of the solar system and not the sun. Whilst it's technically possible to uphold heliocentrism and flat earth theory, it's not mainstream (or as mainstream as you can get as an FE).

Anyway, one argument against heliocentrism is that the stars do not appear to shift in position in the sky in relation to the Earth's movement around the sun. Time lapse photography of the night sky, as pictured above, simply shows the stars moving in circles around polaris, not side to side as the Earth not only spins but also orbits the sun.

Surely this is more indicative of a disk of fairy lights spinning in the firmament, right?
