9 Questions Men Have For Women Answered By Science
2. Does Size Matter?
It's a question that has definitely wandered through the mind of most penis-owners: Is bigger always better? The short answer (no pun intended) is "No", but unfortunately, this answer has never really set any bloke's mind at ease - he's just more likely to think you're trying to spare his feelings. So, to get around this, let's take penises out of the equation altogether for a bit. It is a natural human instinct to actually be unnerved by bodyparts that are disproportionate or unusually big or small. This is part of our deep-rooted instinct to avoid disease and deformity. Although many people say that they find large eyes attractive, if a person has over-exaggerated eyes then we find it slightly unnerving and even creepy. Studies have shown that the same is true with penis size. Straight women were shown a series of images of men with their penises edited to be disproportionately small, disproportionately large and one that is in proportion. The effect was subtle and yet it was found that the majority of women were more likely to go for a proportionate penis over a larger one. Further to this, studies show that women use lots of other factors (everything from BMI to education) when judging mate suitability and attractiveness before taking penis size into account. So, actually, it turns out that size does matter, but that bigger isn't always better and what matters more is the kind of guy the penis is attached to.
