9 Real-Life Creatures That Are Definitely Pokémon
4. Shoebill
The Shoebill is a type of stork that gets its name from the shape of its bill (it was apparently named by people with really bad shoes).
Despite having the constant cocky expression of a bird that's just learnt to smell its own farts, the Shoebill is actually pretty tame and is known for its uncanny ability to stand incredibly still, making them "statue-like".
They communicate with one another by chattering their bills and, er, mooing, although most of the time they prefer to maintain a stony silence.
Humans have been training, I mean, observing this bird all the way back to the ancient Egyptians and they've always been popular due to their remarkably charismatic faces (you try oozing that much charisma with a shoe on your face).
