9 Reasons Why Tony Abbott Is The Worst Australian Prime Minister In History (And He Only Just Got The Job)

6. Has Absolutely No Idea What Is Going On In Foreign Affairs.

In recent years Australia's place on the world stage has risen prolifically thanks to both lobbying by the previous government and the effects of the Global Financial Crisis. Many countries lost a foothold on power simply because they went broke and because of Australia's proven ability to weather the storm, not to mention strong economy (the 13th largest in the world), we were awarded a seat on the United Nations Security Council. Never before have we seen this type of influence over World politics from this side of the planet. Now lets look at our new Prime Minister's position on current affairs as we assume leadership of the UN Security council for the first time in history. Syria: "Baddies vs Baddies". (2013) Now lets completely disregard and neglect the fact that Tony Abbott actually complained about the money spent on lobbying for this position he now heads. Let's completely disregard the actual politics behind or your own conclusions of the Syria civil war. All I ask for you to do is look at the terminology used in his way over simplistic view of the current crisis. I personally haven't used the term "Baddies" since I was about 10 years old. To me anyway that tells me that this man is not only misinformed about what s going on over there but treats the situation like a petulant child. Baddies, are you serious? So what is this guys solution to it all then, ask He Man to step in for the power of Grayskull. Important world leaders SHOULD NOT use terminology that represents a 3rd graders vocabulary. But of course this is only one aspect of foriegn affairs. Mr Abbott, what are your views on Americas illegal invasion of Iraq for absolutely no justification which has been proven time and again with countless examples. "We're bringing universal decencies of humanity to a country which has been pretty short on decency for a very long time". 2010 And you wonder why Arabs hate us. My God if he was any other country on any other continent and said that about Australia I would not only want to send a shipment of Scud missiles up his backside but would wonder how the people of said country voted in such a prat. Oh and what was he position about troop deployments at the EXACT same time the rest of the world was trying to figure out a way to get OUT of Iraq. "The government should explain why it's apparently right that Nato countries should commit more troops, but not Australia." 2010 Now anyone who has been privy to the wonderful invention that is the internet (or television for that matter), you would have come to the conclusion as all of us have that Iraq was not only a mistake but a complete and massive flop. The reasons we supposedly went in there for weren't found, there has been countless deaths on all sides of the fence and although the main objective was to stop terrorists creating a safe haven, it seemingly has had the opposite effect as secular attacks continue on a daily basis. But don't try and tell that to our glorious Commander in Chief. This is what he had to say on the matter. "It advanced everyone's interest."
Try telling that to the million Iraqis whom have died since 2003 and the thousands of troops who laid down there lives for the service of their country. And exactly are the "we" that he is talking about? Because in regards to the national interest this was a very costly mistake. It didn't advance a damn thing. Abbott still aligns his political idealism of World Politics to his religious beliefs and everything America told us in 2002 (that turned out to be false). His "us against them" mentality when it comes to every issue on the world stage is downright irresponsible for any leader to take. Did I mention his position on Isreal? Here, let me show you. " a country so much like Australia, a liberal, pluralist democracy. A beacon of freedom and hope in a part of the world which has so little freedom and hope." I like to hear what Palestine has to say about his remarks and what they think of his "beacon of hope." He neglected to mention that this liberal, pluralist democracy is violently occupying another country and killing its civilians indiscriminately. But apart from his misconceptions on reality the scariest thing about Tony Abbott in that he has quite obviously (as pointed out in this article) displays characteristics that can only be attributed to christian fundamentalism, which has aboslutely NO place in any position of power. There is a reason why we have been trying to seperate church and state for more than a 100 years now. Because when people whom have radical religious beliefs assume power throughout history bad things tend to happen, say like the DARK AGES. Hasn't the "War on Terror" been about getting rid of these type of people, now Australia has voted one in to be Prime Minister.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
