The idea that every woman hits 30 and immediately wants to settle down and have octuplets is completely out of step with reality. And yet, a lot of men in their 30s or 40s or 50s (!) refuse to date women their own age because they think they'll try to tie them down after one date or start planning a wedding after a week or pick out a double-funeral-plot after a month (6 months is more appropriate, obviously). The fear in these dudes' eyes when they see a woman within spitting distance of their age show up on a dating app is truly something to behold. Hopefully at some point this stupid assumption will dissipate but in the mean time, just forget those guys entirely. Younger men tend not to project their expectations onto women in the same paranoid way. If you tell them you just want to shag, they'll take you at your word! If you tell them you're interested in something more, they'll believe that too. Way to listen, junior!
