The stereotype of the grumpy old man exists for a reason. The older humans get- particularly humans who have had fairly easy lives in which everyone basically tells them they're doing fine- the less likely they become to bend to outside opinions or try new things. It can be exhausting trying to get an older guy to drink a different brand of milk, let alone get him to change his schedule to accommodate a partner. So because traditionally women have been more or less forced to change their plans to keep relationships alive, maybe it's time to redress the balance? If you already have a pretty firm idea of what you want from life and part of that plan includes a man, make it a younger one. He'll be much more happy to work around your stuff given that your stuff is already established and his stuff is still basically dandelion fluff floating about on the wind.
Brydie is an Australian writer and performer living in London and she complains exactly the same amount about the weather as every other Australian living in London. Yes, that is her natural lip colour, no, she will not be taking any further questions at this time.
