Having spent enough time in Europe, let's move to South Africa during the '80s when Apartheid was being militantly defended by the white minority. Apartheid was South Africa's racist social structure which legalized and cemented rules including segregation, illegality of mixed-race marriages, housing and employment discrimination, and other policies to ensure the white minority retained political power in the country.

Cue former police officer and security guard Louis van Schoor. Van Schoor became known as the "Apartheid Killer" after it came to light that from 1986-1989 he likely assaulted over 100 black citizens, with 39 confirmed murders. His modus operandi was to respond to silent alarms as a security guard and simply shoot any black folks he found on the premises.

At times he is believed to have executed black passers-by when he could not find a suspect. Due to the Apartheid policies, the police continually found him at no fault. When asked if he'd shot more than 100 people, Van Schoor coldly stated how he never kept count.

Sentenced to 20 years for seven of the murders and two attempted murders, he only served 12 years before being released in 2004. An interesting aside is that Van Schoor's daughter will serve more time for hiring a hitman to kill her white mother than he got for shooting 100 black people.
